Here the railway line goes from Avadi to Military Siding area. This railway gate is closed every half an hour. Mostly closed in the mornings. As the gate is closed for about 10 minutes when the train is coming and the traffic is stopped, it is common for government buses, trucks, cars and two-wheelers to line up for kilometers on both sides of the railway gate. If you want to exceed it, you have to go around a distance of 5 km. Due to this, the people going in the ambulance are suffering a lot.

It was planned in 2010 that a flyover at Pattabram, CDH Road, Railway Gate would solve the problem. In 2010, funds were allocated by the Department of Railways and Highways to construct a four-lane railway flyover.

High-level flyover in chennai on another level! It is also 4 lane.. When will the work start.. Here is the update chennai on another level high level flyover! That too 4 lane.. When will the work start.. Here is the update

At the beginning of 2016, the soil test for the flyover was carried out and after that, the government allocated 38 crore rupees for the first phase of the flyover. But there was a situation where funds of 52 crore rupees were required to complete the flyover works. Funds were allocated for the same.

The Pattabram flyover is designed to be bi-directional at both ends, conjoined at the beginning and bi-directionally divergent in the middle and the work started in 2018. But slowly the works were done then. But during the Corona era, the work was stalled. In this case, traffic was diverted from near Pattabram police station in 2021 to avoid people waiting at the railway gate for a long time and to complete the flyover works quickly.

Vehicles including a bus as two men travel around 5 kms. It used to take only 5 minutes to go from Pattabram to Thiruninnavur, but now it takes up to 30 minutes due to a five kilometer round trip. The situation is that the area will return to normal only after the completion of Pattabram flyover work.

In this case, the people were demanding that this flyover should be completed and put to use quickly. Responding to this, Thiruvallur district Collector Albi john Varghese expressed hope that one of the bridge works being constructed at Pattabiram on the Chennai-Tirupati highway will be completed and brought to public use.
