The Strategic Road Development Programme's (SRDP) three-kilometer elevated route between malakpet and Santosh nagar has yet again missed its completion target due to delays. Only the pillars have been constructed thus far; nothing has been developed during the past six months. The Greater hyderabad Municipal Corporation's (GHMC) efforts to build a flyover have been hampered by delays in site acquisition, a lack of cooperation with several authorities, the relocation of subsurface services, and other problems.

Traffic is backed up throughout the section from malakpet to Santosh nagar via the intersections at Saidabad, Dhobighat, and I S Sadan. Recently, there has been an upsurge in traffic. The inner ring road has had a number of collisions. Even during rush hour, motorists find the flyover to be a nuisance. The flyover was built to reduce traffic. "The situation is significantly worse during the rain. It is apparent that the journey would be rough because the nearby roads are damaged.

It was said that the project, which is being carried out at a cost of Rs 523.37 crore, would be finished in two years; however, it has already been three years and the building of the pillars has not been finished, according to Nageshwar Rao of Saidabad. The corridor will be 3.382 km long, of which 2.58 km will be a flyover, while the remaining distance will be used for two-side ramps and a four-lane, bi-directional flyover.

According to a project department officer for the ghmc south zone, there are a total of 72 pillars. It was anticipated that the flyover will shorten travel times to Champapet and Chandrayangutta and lessen traffic congestion at the IS Sadan intersection. There would be less traffic congestion at the intersections of chanchalguda, Saidabad, and Dhobighat.

Akhlaq Ahmed, a frequent commuter, said that although the work is being undertaken for their benefit, it has turned into a nightmare owing to delays. commuters use the chanchalguda route towards Saidabad, Dhobighat via I S Sadan to Santosh Nagar. Umesh Yadav, a different commuter, stated: "I travel this route frequently; during rush hours, I am stopped in traffic snarls on the stretch from I S Sadan still chanchalguda jail road.

Akhlaq Ahmed, a frequent commuter, said that since the project has been put on hold, commuters are having issues because of terrible roads and the tiny lane near each pillar. Yadav said. "After recent rain, the road got progressively worse. The entire stretch became uneven. The local body has not responded to any of the concerns, he continued.

Press Road Akbarbagh in malakpet, chanchalguda, Saidabad, Dhobighat, through I S Sadan, and Owaisi Junction in Santosh nagar would all be on the elevated corridor's route. One of the largest projects in the Old City is this one. With relief at I S Sadan Crossroads, it allows for unfettered traffic flow from nalgonda Crossroads to Owaisi Junction.
