ISRO has provided a new update on the temperature on the surface of the moon's south pole by Chandrayaan 3. Chandrayaan-3's lander has successfully landed on the South Pole of the Moon. Subsequently, the Pragyan rover successfully landed on the moon from the vikram lander and continues its research. Accordingly, isro has been providing regular updates on the historic Chandrayaan-3 moon mission on its social media pages.

ISRO also informed that rover payloads LIBS and APXS have been brought into operation. APXS stands for Alpha Particle X-ray Spectrometer, while LIBS stands for Laser Induced Breakdown Spectrometer. Meanwhile, the Pragyan rover has transmitted data showing the temperature profile of the moon's surface at various depths of the moon's south pole. Chandrayaan-3 attached to the vikram lander, ChaSTE, a thermophysical probe payload on the lunar surface. The payload probed the temperature at various depths on the moon's surface and sent back details.

ISRO also said that this payload is capable of going 10 cm below the moon's surface and testing the temperature. isro also said on its twitter page that the probe has 10 separate temperature sensors. There is a diagram in the post published by ISRO. It contains data explaining the temperature variations recorded at different depths during exploration of the lunar surface. The Pragyan rover has so far sent various videos since landing on the lunar surface. Yesterday, isro released a video of the Pragyan rover's approach to the Shivashakti spot on the moon's surface.

Earlier, PM Modi visited Bengaluru and directly congratulated the isro scientists and named the place where Chandrayaan-2 crashed into its lander as Tiranga Point and the place where Chandrayaan-3 landed as Shiv shakti Point. Later, speaking on the Maan Ki Baat program today, he mentioned that chandrayaan 3 has emerged as a symbol of a new India.
