On october 1, a 5-kilometer radius surrounding the rajiv gandhi International airport (RGIA) in shamshabad would be subject to prohibitions against drones and other flying equipment under Section 144 of the Code of criminal Procedure. In a friday order, Cyberabad police Commissioner M.Stephen Raveendra stated that there was a strong possibility of a violation of the peace and a disruption of public tranquility and hence prohibited the use of such gadgets. 

The directive additionally said that no remotely operated micro-light aircraft, paragliders, or drone flying would be permitted close to RGIA. At the 24th National Award Ceremony for "Excellence in Energy Management," hosted by the Confederation of indian Industry (CII), GMR hyderabad International airport (GHIAL) once again won the coveted "National Energy Leader" and "Excellent Energy Efficient Unit" accolades. For the fifth and seventh years in a row, respectively, the airport has received awards for being a "National Energy Leader" and an "Excellent Energy Efficient Unit."
