Due to a lack of wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital literacy among government instructors, the artificial intelligence-based face recognition technology used to track student attendance had technical issues that rendered it worthless. The teachers point out that manually recording attendance only takes five to ten minutes, whereas registering attendance takes around twenty to twenty-five minutes. Due to this, the first period is lost for half. The system's fundamental flaw is that daily attendance reports must be sent to higher officials by instructors.

However, occasionally the application is not successful because teachers are not properly trained. They are having trouble using the system as a result. Ramesh from government High school Kacheguda said, "We thought that with the introduction of the new system, the process of taking attendance will be easier. Last month, it was announced that the department is to introduce a new attendance recording system in government schools by eliminating the traditional practice of recording attendance in registers. But because the system is confusing, it has gotten more difficult. Daily teachers struggle with taking attendance.

A government school teacher who asked to remain anonymous remarked, "The facial recognition technology is significantly worse than the age-old practice of documenting attendance in registers. The application has not been properly trained for use by teachers. The agency had already promised to provide training, but it has not yet done so. The system is flawed as well. For instance, last week while I was taking attendance for class 6, the system displayed the photo of another kid when the picture was uploaded. What makes that possible?

"Instead of using an app-based facial attendance system, it will be better if the department installs centralised instruments to capture attendance near the school gates," said Padma, a maths teacher at government High school in Charminar. The primary issue we have while using the new recording attendance system, which was only deployed ten days ago, is photographing teenage girls. Few parents disagreed and opposed it because they believe that technology may be exploited and pictures might be used inappropriately.
