Before Dussehra, the state government has given a big gift to the government employees. A total of eight
agendas were approved in the cabinet meeting held on friday (13 October). Despite the matter of reservation in
promotion being under consideration in the supreme court, the state government has decided to give promotion
to government servants. Giving this information, cabinet Secretary S siddharth said that promotion of
employees and officers was stalled for a long time in almost all the departments.
For example, many junior engineers are working as executive engineers in charge. Similarly, many junior
employees are being given the charge of seniors and are being given the junior pay scale. Now on this, the State
Government has decided that out of 100% for any one post, 16% scheduled caste and one percent Scheduled
Tribe i.e. 17% will be fixed in the light of the decision of the Honorable supreme court and in the remaining
83% also 16% Reservation will be given to % scheduled caste and 1% Scheduled Tribe i.e. 17% Scheduled
Caste and Scheduled Tribe. After seeing this, it has been decided to give normal promotion.
Cabinet Secretary S siddharth said that in the departments where 17% Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes
are not available, that number of posts will be left vacant for the time being. Its decision will be taken further by
the state government. Promotion of state government employees and officials has been stalled since 2016,
keeping in view an alternative path has been prepared in the cabinet today. He also said that when the Supreme
Court’s decision comes, work will be done in the light of that decision. If the person who has been promoted is
not going to be promoted as per the instructions of the court, then he will be brought back to the same post in
which he was promoted, but the state government will not take back the payment made to him through
promotion.
