While inaugurating several projects in Ahmednagar district of maharashtra on thursday (October 26), Prime
Minister narendra modi indirectly targeted former Union minister and ncp chief Sharad Pawar. Referring to
the issues related to farmers, PM Modi said, A senior leader of maharashtra has been the Agriculture Minister
in the central government for many years, although I personally respect him, but what has he done for the
farmers? During his tenure of seven years, he only, remember this figure, in seven years, he purchased only Rs
3.5 lakh crore worth of grains at MSP from the farmers across the country, whereas our government bought
grains worth only Rs 3.5 lakh crore at MSP in the same period of seven years. It has already given Rs 13.5 lakh
crore to the farmers.
PM Modi said, Before 2014, only Rs 500-600 crore of pulses and oilseeds were purchased on MSP, whereas
our government has given more than Rs 1 lakh fifteen thousand crore pulses and oilseeds to the bank accounts
of farmers.

PM Modi said, When he (Sharad Pawar) was the Agriculture minister, farmers had to depend on middlemen
even for their money. Farmers were not paid for months. Our government has made arrangements to send MSP
money directly to the farmer's bank account. PM Modi said, My family members, a large number of our farmer
friends will benefit greatly from today's program. We are also taking full care of the interests of sugarcane
farmers. The price of sugarcane has been increased to Rs 315 per quintal. Ethanol worth about Rs 70 thousand
crore has been purchased in the last 9 years. This money has also reached the sugarcane farmers. To ensure
timely payment to sugarcane farmers, assistance worth thousands of crores of rupees has been provided to sugar
mills and cooperative societies... Let us tell you that when PM Modi was addressing the public meeting,
Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde, deputy chief minister devendra fadnavis and deputy cm Ajit
Pawar were also present on the stage.
