Following the viral video of a doctor at a government-run hospital in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, slapping an HIV-positive patient, the doctor was suspended. The event occurred on saturday when a patient who tested positive for hiv was referred from a private hospital in ujjain to Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital in Indore. The patient was involved in a car accident and suffered many injuries, including a shattered leg.

When the patient's hiv status was discovered during therapy, the physician, akash Kaushal, repeatedly slapped him. One man who was in the ward filmed the incident on camera. One of the patient's relatives told the media about the entire episode, saying, "The doctor slapped the patient multiple times." He (the doctor) also attacked us when we opposed the assault on the patient."


The event was later verified to the media by the Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) of the MY Hospital, who stated, "The entire incident is under my watch." The Head of the Department (HoD) of the Orthopaedic department has immediately suspended the accused physician, akash Kaushal."

"The hospital has also assembled a three-person team to investigate the matter; the team will provide a report in three days. In compliance with the findings of the inquiry, the accused will face additional consequences, he said.
