AAMUK General Secretary TTV Dhinakaran said that the governor's refusal to sign even after the resolution to confer a doctorate on Sankaraiah was an act of insult to the freedom fighters. In a social media post published by AAMUK General Secretary TTV Dhinakaran, I urge the governor of tamil Nadu to sign the file awarding honorary doctorate to freedom fighter and senior leftist leader Comrade N. Sankaraiah for his sacrifice. The tamil Nadu government has decided to confer an honorary doctorate degree on freedom fighter martyr N. Sankaraiah from tamil Nadu during the graduation ceremony to be held tomorrow at madurai Kamarasar University.

Even after a formal resolution was passed by the Board of Governors and the Board of Regents as per madurai Kamarasar university bye-laws to confer an honorary doctorate on Sankaraiah, the Governor's refusal to sign it is an insult to the martyrs of the freedom struggle. I urge the governor to immediately sign the file awarding him an honorary degree in appreciation of the sacrifice of Comrade Sankaraiah, who spent his entire life fighting and going to jail for the freedom of India, for the farmers, for the poor people at the bottom, and against the cruelty of untouchability,” he said.
