Former chief minister Digvijay Singh has raised questions on giving immunity to the district election Officer in

the postal ballot scandal of Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh. He said that in this case mere suspension of the nodal

officer is not enough. At the same time, legal expert and congress rajya sabha member vivek Tankha has also

expected strict action from the election Commission.

Let us tell you that after this incident of making bundles of postal ballot paper by opening the strong room in

Balaghat on monday (27th November), congress had not only expressed apprehension of irregularities in the

counting of votes, but also complained to the election commission, district election Officer Girish Mishra.

There was also a demand for its removal. On this, Chief Electoral Officer of madhya pradesh Anupam Rajan

suspended Nodal Officer (Tehsildar of Lalbarra) Himmat Singh Bhavedi and ordered an inquiry to District

Electoral Officer collector Dr. Girish Mishra.

Kamal Nath demanded suspension

Congress is not satisfied even after taking action against the officer in-charge of postal ballot and Tehsildar

Himmat Singh. After State congress Committee President Kamal Nath, now former chief minister and Rajya

Sabha member Digvijay Singh has put the election commission in the dock in this matter. He wrote on social


media platform Therefore, both the officers should be immediately suspended and transferred elsewhere. Just

suspending the nodal officer is not enough.
