Reportedly there is doubt over the seat distribution between the two main constituent parties of the india Alliance (I.N.D.I.A. Alliance) SP and Congress. On the demand of top leadership, congress has sent the names of contenders for kanpur and lok sabha seats. The list sent by the state leadership includes the names of 13 contenders for kanpur and 9 for Akbarpur. No name has yet been revealed by SP for kanpur Lok Sabha. kanpur North congress President Naushad Alam Mansoori has given a big statement on the mutual tussle between SP and Congress.

Meanwhile Naushad Alam Mansouri said that from kanpur lok sabha, AICC member Alok Mishra, former mla Ajay Kapoor, former mla Bhudhar Narayan Mishra, AICC member madan Mohan, State Secretary Vikas Awasthi, former district President Harprakash Agnihotri and Karishma Thakur are in the list of contenders. At the same time, assembly candidate and PCC member Ambrish Gaur, former state secretary Niyama Sachan, Dhawal Pandey, Manoj Shukla are in the race for the Akbarpur lok sabha seat.

Perhaps the list of claimants has been sent to the state leadership through the district unit. Recently, SP had released the list of lok sabha candidates. congress leaders had shown harsh attitude on SP's unilateral announcement. The meeting held in delhi to reach a consensus on seat sharing remained inconclusive. SP had not claimed candidate for kanpur lok sabha seat. Now congress has also staked claim on Akbarpur lok sabha seat. 16 names were announced in the first list of lok sabha candidates released by SP. congress has also geared up now. Akhilesh Yadav's move was considered a strategy to put pressure on BJP.
