There is increased excitement among political parties in punjab regarding the lok sabha elections. The names of leaders of each party contesting the elections are being finalized gradually. Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal mp Harsimrat Kaur Badal has given her reaction regarding contesting the elections. SAD mp Harsimrat Kaur Badal on monday (April 15) said it is the party's prerogative to give tickets to candidates it deems appropriate, but if it contests this lok sabha election, it will contest only from the bathinda parliamentary seat.

SAD led by sukhbir singh badal has not yet announced the name of the candidate from bathinda lok sabha seat. At present this seat is being represented by Harsimrat Kaur Badal.

From where will Harsimrat Kaur Badal contest elections?

Regarding the lok sabha elections in punjab, Shiromani Akali Dal announced its candidates from Gurdaspur, Anandpur Sahib, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, Sangrur, Amritsar, and Faridkot on april 13. According to a PTI report, while speaking to reporters in bathinda on monday (April 15), Harsimrat Kaur said, "The party will decide who will get the ticket but I decide that if I contest the elections, I will contest from bathinda only."

Bathinda lok sabha seat is SAD's stronghold!

Bathinda lok sabha seat in punjab is considered the stronghold of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). Harsimrat Kaur Badal won this seat in the years 2009, 2014 and 2019. In the last lok sabha elections in 2019, he defeated congress candidate amarinder singh Raja Waring. In response to a question, he said that former minister and senior SAD leader Sikandar Singh Maluka is standing with the party. He took a dig at his son Gurpreet Singh Maluka and daughter-in-law Parampal Kaur Sidhu, who had joined the bjp a few days ago.
