Shiromani Akali Dal announced the names of its candidates recently. This time Akali Dal has not given a ticket to former minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa. Some party leaders have expressed their displeasure regarding this on wednesday (April 17).

Senior leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal held a meeting on wednesday, in which they expressed their displeasure over former party minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa not getting the ticket. According to the reports published in the media, in this meeting held at the residence of former minister Dhindsa, many leaders were also of the opinion that the candidate to whom the party gave a ticket in his place should not be supported in the lok sabha elections.

Recently, Shiromani Akali Dal has announced the names of candidates for 7 out of 13 lok sabha seats of Punjab. Akali Dal has canceled the ticket of former minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa from the Sangrur lok sabha seat and has made Iqbal Singh Jhundan its candidate in his place. Iqbal Singh Jhundan has also been an mla in the past. There is dissatisfaction among many Akali Dal leaders on this decision of the party. On receiving information about the meeting held at Dhindsa's house, Akali Dal chief sukhbir singh badal reached the house of Dhindsa late on wednesday evening to meet his family.

During this time, sukhbir singh badal stayed at the residence of Parminder Singh Dhindsa for about 15 to 20 minutes. Earlier, many senior leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal had attended the meeting held at Dhindsa's house, including former ministers Baldev Singh Mann, Sarwan Singh Phillaur, retired Justice nirmal singh and former mla Gaganjit Singh Barnala. Parminder Singh Dhindsa's family is considered to have a good hold on the politics of Punjab. Parminder Singh Dhindsa was one of the strongest candidates among the contenders for a ticket from Sangrur Lok Sabha. He had also been the Finance minister in the previous government. Dissatisfaction is being seen among his supporters and many senior leaders due to denial of Dhindsa's ticket.
