In a high-level meeting with Union Urban Development minister Manohar Lal, leader of Opposition in delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta has demanded to extend the Metro Yellow Line running from Millennium City Center Gurugram to Samaypur Badli to Narela.

In this regard, the bjp Legislature party under his leadership met Urban Development minister Manohar Lal and submitted a memorandum to him. The meeting was attended by bjp MPs Vaijayant J Panda, Atul Garg, bjp delhi State President Virendra Sachdeva, former delhi minister Kailash Gehlot, raj Kumar anand and former mla Kartar Singh and all bjp MLAs of delhi Mohan Singh Bisht, Om Prakash Sharma, Jitendra Mahajan, Abhay Verma, ajay Mahawar and Anil Vajpayee. On this occasion, Vice President of DDA, Secretary of Urban Development Ministry, many senior officers of L&DO Department were also present.

In the memorandum given to the Union minister, Vijender Gupta said that at present metro service is available only till Samaypur Badli under the Yellow Line corridor of the Metro. The central government has already approved the proposal to extend it to Sirsapur Metro Depot. Therefore, if it is extended to Narela, lakhs of people will be able to avail the metro facility.

In the high level meeting with the Union minister, many important issues like restoration of cancelled leases, land pooling, de-sealing of shops, reconsideration of Group Housing Society Act and necessary amendments in RCS and regularization of unauthorized colonies of delhi were also discussed.

Vijendra Gupta said that Metro has now become the lifeline of delhi and lakhs of people are taking advantage of its connectivity every day. But people living in the areas around Alipur and Narela are deprived of the facility of Metro. In such a situation, its expansion will not only be a great relief for lakhs of residents of these areas as a means of cheap transportation, but its expansion will also accelerate the industrial development of the area. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the proposal of the bjp Legislative party positively.
