himachal pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has made a big statement on sunday (May 4) regarding the water of Bhakra Dam. He said that the people of the state should get their share of water. This statement of cm Sukhu has come amid the ongoing dispute between the governments of punjab and haryana regarding the water sharing of Bhakra Dam.

cm Sukhvinder Sukhu said, "The most valuable natural wealth of himachal pradesh is water. Himachal produces 12 thousand megawatts of electricity. Still what did Himachal get from this?"

CM's question - What did Himachal get in exchange for water?

cm Sukhu raised questions on the water sharing of Bhakra Dam and asked - "Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (SJVN) has become a company worth Rs 6,700 crore, but we have to ask what did Himachal get in return? punjab and haryana are fighting for water, but water is flowing through Himachal. What are we getting in return?''

'4250 crore dues demanded from BBMB'

The Himachal cm further said, "The matter of the state's share in the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) is stuck for 5 decades. Both the states have to pay the dues. Himachal should get its rights according to the fixed policy. The Himachal government is to get Rs 4250 crore as share in BBMB. Our share is based on the norms set by the supreme court and the punjab Reorganization Act." chief minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu made this remark after inaugurating a parking facility built at a cost of Rs 18 crore in Sector-5 of New Shimla. He also announced Rs 50 lakh for another parking facility, a community center and a primary health center. cm Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said, "My sister lives here and I also spent my childhood here. My political journey also started from here.
