
A campaign has been started in Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh as part of efforts to restart the endangered Yellow River. The Yellow River flows towards the badlapur assembly constituency and this river is life-giving for the farmers living in the area. bharatiya janata party (BJP) mla from badlapur assembly constituency Ramesh Chandra Mishra has led the campaign. This project, run under the slogan 'Badlapur Sankalpit, Yellow River Protected', has been officially started with Bhoomi Pujan on june 12. On this occasion, mla Ram Chandra Mishra has also said a lot about the river.
mla Ramesh Chandra Mishra said that this river is life-giving for the badlapur assembly and the revival of this river will also provide relief to the farmers and animals of the area. At the same time, the work of repairing the banks of the river is going on actively. He further said that a meeting was held with district Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra on june 11 regarding the conservation of the river. mla Mishra said that due to lack of rain for the last few years, the water level of the river is decreasing, due to which agriculture is also getting affected. He said that initiatives are being taken to save the existence of the life-giving Yellow River for badlapur and its revival will benefit the common people of the villages situated on the river bank.
Under the revival campaign, heavy machines like JCB have been installed to repair the banks of the river. The mla said that in the meeting held with the district Magistrate and other high officials, a strategy was prepared to prepare an action plan for preserving the river and continuous water flow.
Will take help from local people and social welfare organizations
He said that for the restoration of the river, help will be taken from the local citizens as well as social welfare organizations of the villages through which this river is passing in the assembly constituency. Let us tell you that the length of the Yellow River originating from the Tato Muraini lake located on the border of Sultanpur-Pratapgarh is 70 kilometers and its origin is Sultanpur district. This river passes through Pratapgarh and more than a dozen villages of Badalpur assembly constituency of Jaunpur district and meets the Gomti River.
Officials said that due to lack of water in the river, the groundwater level in the surrounding villages is going down rapidly and the existence of the river is under threat. He said that due to the threat of illegal occupation of the river land, its existence may end. The water of the Yellow River started drying up in the month of march this year itself. The residents of the area have demanded the administration to release water in the river.
