The delhi government is soon going to implement a new excise policy for the capital, in which the quality of liquor, transparency in the sales system and the safety of the weaker sections of the society will be given top priority. chief minister Rekha Gupta today informed about the key features of this policy. According to chief minister Rekha Gupta, this time the excise policy will not be limited to revenue growth, but its objective is also to keep social balance and public health in mind. The chief minister clarified that under the new excise policy, not only scientific quality testing, digitization of the sales system, ban on illegal sales and transparency in licensing will be brought, but the misuse of alcohol will also be controlled by running a public awareness campaign.

Excise policies are being reviewed

According to the delhi government, the responsibility of preparing the new policy has been given to a high-level committee constituted under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary dharmendra Kumar. This committee is reviewing the excise policies of many states of the country, so that an effective and socially oriented model can be adopted in Delhi. The committee will prepare a proposal for the new policy by june 30 and it will be presented to the government.

'No scope for corruption will be left'

chief minister Rekha Gupta informed, "There will be no compromise on the safety, health and peace of the sensitive and weaker sections of the society in the new excise policy, along with this, this policy will live up to the trust of the people of delhi and no scope for corruption will be left."

'Unfair benefits given to selected private companies'

According to chief minister Rekha Gupta, taking the excise policy of the previous government to task, she called it corrupt and biased, and also claimed that through the policy of the previous AAP government, unfair benefits were given to some selected private companies, which not only caused huge loss to the government revenue, but also broke the trust of the public and the result of failure was that the policy had to be withdrawn and many top leaders had to go to jail. In such a situation, now the new excise policy in the bjp government has been described as not just an economic document but a medium of social responsibility, which is being prepared in the interest of the citizens of Delhi.
