Attack on congress & bihar Bandh
BJP leader Shazia Ilmi launched a strong attack on congress over its bihar Bandh call.
She stated, “We will not tolerate the insult of the Prime Minister.”
Ilmi accused rahul gandhi of “travelling for power” and claimed congress has no regard for democracy.
Allegations on Pawan Khera
Ilmi alleged that congress leader Pawan Khera and his wife possess two voter ID cards (EPIC numbers).
Questioned why congress has not taken internal action against him.
Claimed congress is involved in “vote robbery” and urged the election commission (EC) to take strict action.
Also alleged that Tejashwi Yadav had two voter IDs in bihar earlier.
Evidence Presented
BJP IT cell chief amit Malviya released evidence on social media.
Shared copies of voter lists showing Pawan Khera registered in both Jangpura and New delhi constituencies.
Displayed two EPIC numbers linked to Khera.
Election Commission’s Action
EC issued a notice to Pawan Khera, rejecting his explanation.
Rule requires:
Form 6 → to include name in voter list.
Form 7 → to remove name from an old constituency.
Allegation: Khera filled Form 6 twice, declaring his name wasn’t elsewhere, which is a violation.
Legal Consequences
Under Section 31, Representation of the people Act, giving false information may lead to:
Up to 1 year imprisonment,
Fine, or
Both.
EC hinted at possible FIR registration if proven deliberate.
Pawan Khera’s Response
Khera admitted his name was in two voter lists but said he applied for deletion in one.
Called EC’s notice politically motivated and accused it of acting under bjp pressure.
Claimed ec ignored Congress’s earlier complaint of 1 lakh suspicious voters in Karnataka.
