Karnataka cm Siddaramaiah’s Stance on Full Term

Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah stated he is ready to serve the full five-year term.

He clarified that continuing as cm depends on the decision of the congress high command.

Responding to media questions, he said, “If the high command decides,” regarding completing five years.

Speculation on Leadership Change

Speculation has emerged about a possible leadership change as the congress government reaches the halfway mark in November.

Media reports refer to this phase as the "November revolution."

Siddaramaiah has consistently denied any immediate plans to step down.

Comments on Support from Allies

Former minister and close confidant K N Rajanna stated that Siddaramaiah is “indispensable” to the Congress.

Rajanna compared Siddaramaiah’s importance to congress with B S Yediyurappa’s role in the bjp and the Deve Gowda family in JD(S).

He added that Siddaramaiah’s leadership would remain stable if allowed to conduct a cabinet reshuffle after 2.5 years.

On Chief Ministerial Aspirants

Siddaramaiah acknowledged multiple aspirants for the cm post within Congress.

He emphasized democratic rights, saying anyone can compete, but the final decision rests with the high command.

He attributed persistent leadership-change speculation partly to repeated media questions.

Alleged Power-Sharing Arrangement

Reports suggest a possible “rotational chief minister” agreement between Siddaramaiah and deputy cm D K Shivakumar.

After May 2023 assembly elections, there was stiff competition between the two for the cm post.

The high command reportedly persuaded Shivakumar to take the deputy cm role.

The party has not officially confirmed any rotational arrangement.

Shivakumar’s delhi Visit

Rajanna downplayed Shivakumar’s visit to New delhi, suggesting it might relate to a court case or personal matters.

He added that Shivakumar could meet the high command or rahul gandhi in his capacity as state congress chief and would follow party instructions.
