Delhi chief minister arvind kejriwal has taken legal action against his arrest and remand in the PMLA court regarding the liquor policy case. kejriwal contends that both his arrest and the remand order are unlawful, seeking immediate release from custody. An urgent hearing has been requested from the Chief Justice by sunday (March 24).

A petition was previously filed on march 22 in the delhi High court by surjit singh Yadav, urging Kejriwal's removal from the post of chief minister following his arrest. The petition demands clarification from the Principal Secretary to the Central Government, the delhi Government, and the Lieutenant governor on the authority under which kejriwal continues to hold office. Furthermore, it seeks Kejriwal's removal from the Chief Ministerial position.


Arvind kejriwal was apprehended by the ED on march 21 after a two-hour interrogation and subsequently presented in the Rouse Avenue court on march 22. The court then granted a six-day ED remand for Kejriwal. In a message conveyed by his wife Sunita on Saturday, arvind kejriwal expressed his dedication to serving the country throughout his life. He stated from ED custody that no prison can confine him, and he will soon return.


On friday (March 22), the petition challenging the ED's arrest was withdrawn from the supreme Court. Senior lawyer Abhishek manu Singhvi, representing arvind kejriwal, informed Justice sanjeev Khanna that arguments would be presented in the trial court.
