india skipper virat kohli has picked his favourite international match apart from the one when india beat sri lanka to end their 28-year old wait for the prestigious world cup trophy. The other match that kohli remembers is the 2016 World t20 quarter-final game against australia in Mohali. kohli, while speaking on Star sports 'Cricket Connected' show, said it was difficult for him to pick his favourite international match but picked one after giving it some thought.

kohli said "Apart from the 2011 finals, my other favourite match from the atmosphere and importance of the game point of view would be the 2016 t20 quarter-finals against australia in Mohali". virat kohli had hit an unbeaten 82 in that game in Mohali which helped india seal their match in the semi-final after a 6-wicket with 5 balls to spare against Australia. However, india could not make it to the final of that world cup as they faced defeat eventual trophy-winners west indies in the final four clash.

On the same show, kohli had acknowledged that there is a possibility of sport resuming in the post-Covid-19 world without fans at stadiums but said it will be difficult to recreate the magical moments without supporters. The Covid-19 pandemic has brought the global sporting calendar to a grinding halt. Among other things, sport has been hit badly by the novel coronavirus outbreak. Even as some countries are looking at ways to resume sport, playing without fans at stadiums has been a common thread that has dominated the discussions. Stressing that such a move won’t affect the intensity with which sportspersons operate, virat kohli said: “It’s quite a possible situation, it might happen, I honestly don’t know how everyone is going to take that because we all are used to playing in front of so many passionate fans. I know it will be played at a very good intensity but that feeling of the crowd connecting with the players and the tension of the game where everyone goes through it in the stadium, those emotions are very difficult to recreate.
