The indian air Force (IAF) has launched a new combat uniform for its soldiers as part of its 90th-anniversary celebrations. The first look of the uniform was revealed by air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary. The air Force has launched a uniform that provides self-defense in any emergency. It is designed in such a way that it can escape from the enemy. The new uniform is grey. At present this uniform will be used for ground duty. The new uniforms have replaced the old organic patterns with pixelated designs.

The air Force expects the uniform to be beneficial to people operating in all environments. Wing commander Ashish Moghe said that there is great diversity in mountains, deserts and snowy areas and these uniforms will help them operate more effectively in these environments. More added that people working on the tarmac will have the option of working with a T-shirt to resist the heat and increase their performance.

 Meanwhile, VR Chaudhary said that the central government has permitted to creation of a weapons system branch for officers on the occasion of the 90th anniversary. He said the new branch would mainly handle special streams of surface-to-air missiles, surface-to-air missiles, remotely piloted aircraft and weapon system operators on dual and multi-crew aircraft. He also stated that the formation of this branch would save more than Rs 3,400 crore as the cost of flying training would be reduced.
