According to corporation sources, 17 crores 36 lakh 17 thousand rupees are pending on the offices of many government departments of the city, including the city council, which is called 'city government' to the 'Nazim' ie SDM's office of the subdivision area. This huge amount was not collected in any one year, but due to the apathy of the officers or the negligence of the corporation engineers, the arrears have been going on for many years.
The outstanding amount is increasing year after year. While the connections of common consumers are not only being cut but strict action is being taken against them by registering an FIR.
Most outstanding on Municipal Council- According to corporation sources, about Rs 17 crore 34 lakh is pending with the electricity Corporation on the Hindaun Municipal Council. In which 17 crores of Road light and 34 lakhs are outstanding on various offices, parks, Sulabh complex, and night shelters under the Municipal Council. This outstanding amount is from march 2019 to february 2022. In the last three years, the Municipal Council has not paid the arrears of electricity consumption to the Corporation.
One and a half lakh dues on SDM office too After the Municipal Council, the SDM's office is among the biggest defaulters. According to the corporation engineers, about one and a half lakh rupees of electricity bills are pending on this biggest administrative office of the subdivision. Apart from this, the list of defaulters includes the offices of many government departments, including the sub-jail.
Four and a half crore dues on 5700 consumers- According to the corporation, there are 22 thousand consumers in Hindaun urban area (A-First). These include domestic, commercial, industrial, and agricultural connections as well as electrical connections of government offices. Out of these, 5700 common consumers owe Rs 4 crore 50 lakh to the corporation.
