Shruti Haasan didn’t hold back – and she shouldn’t have to.

A new video going viral shows the actress visibly pissed off after some guy casually calls her “Momma” right to her face in public. The paparazzo (or fan, who even knows anymore) drops the word like it’s a cute compliment. Shruti’s reaction? Pure, unfiltered irritation. And the caption hitting the nail on the head: “Why would you call that in public?? They really have no sense.”

Exactly. This isn’t harmless banter. It’s creepy, disrespectful, and straight-up weird.

Let’s be brutally honest here. bollywood paps have turned boundary-crossing into an art form. They’ve commented on Shruti’s outfits, body, age – everything – like she’s public property. Now they’ve graduated to calling a grown woman “Momma” on camera, as if it’s endearing instead of infantilising and gross.

Shruti’s anger isn’t overreaction. It’s the only sane response when someone reduces you to a maternal trope in the middle of a public interaction. She’s an actress, a musician, a powerhouse – not your on-demand “Momma” fantasy.

The real problem? This behaviour is normalised. Same paps who objectify women one day casually cross into weird territory the next, and everyone acts like it’s just “paparazzi culture.”

Shruti just drew a very public line. More celebrities need to do the same. Because if calling a woman “Momma” in public feels normal to these guys, the problem isn’t her reaction – it’s their complete lack of sense, shame, and basic decency.
