What is the difference between the two?

Khuda Hafiz is a Persian word, while Allah Hafiz is an Arabic word. javed akhtar explained the difference between these two words during his interview by giving the example of Shia and Sunni. In the recent past, there has been a trend from Khuda Hazif to Allah Hafiz, especially in countries like Pakistan, there is a belief that Khuda is a common word, while Allah is a special Islamic word, so people there prefer to say Allah Hafiz. However, in India, a large population still says Khuda Hafiz.
