What Happened
Legendary bollywood actor Dharmendra Deol passed away on 24 november 2025 at his home in Mumbai, at the age of 89.
He had been unwell for a while; earlier in the month, he was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital due to respiratory issues.
After a period of treatment, he was discharged on 12 November and was recuperating at home.
Unfortunately, his condition worsened, and he passed away at his residence.
His last rites were carried out at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Juhu, Mumbai.
Dharmendra’s Legacy: More Than Just an Action Star
Often called Bollywood’s “He-Man”, dharmendra had a career spanning more than six decades and acted in over 300 films.
He started in films in 1960 with Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere.
He was famous for his versatility — action, romance, comedy — and starred in iconic movies like Sholay, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Chupke Chupke, Yaadon Ki Baarat, and many more.
Even in his later years, he stayed active. His last big project is the war drama Ikkis, set to release on 25 december 2025.

Political Career: He served as a Member of parliament (Lok Sabha) from 2004 to 2009.
Off-Screen Personality: Beyond films, he was known for his simple, grounded life — farming, social media posts promoting healthy living, and his warmth as a person.

Karan Johar, who worked with him, called his death “an end of an ERA.” He praised dharmendra as a “mega star,” “embodiment of a hero,” and “the best human being” — noting how his warmth and positivity touched everyone.
Prime minister Narendra Modi expressed grief, saying Dharmendra’s passing marks the “end of an era.”
Other political figures like Amit Shah and Rahul Gandhi also paid tribute, highlighting both his artistic contribution and his simple, grounded personality.
Bollywood colleagues echoed the sentiment: Suniel Shetty described him as “strength wrapped in grace … heroism wrapped in a pure heart.”
Manoj Bajpayee said Dharmendra’s loss “feels personal,” praising his dignity, humour, and the way he carried himself on and off screen.
