Telangana wins 'Swachh Survekshan Grameen Puraskar'!


Among smaller states and union territories, andaman and Nicobar has secured the first position, followed by Dadra and nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Sikkim.


Telangana ranks first in the rural category of the 2022 cleanliness survey. On the second place is haryana and third is tamil Nadu. The awards have been presented by President draupadi murmu to the representatives of the three states.



Swachh Survekshan Grameen-2022 Award is given to those states and districts which perform well on the parameters of Swachh Bharat Mission-Grameen (SBM-G). It also sees how the participation of the rural community has been in improving the sanitation situation.

On this occasion, President Murmu talked about cleanliness and building a self-reliant India. He said that when Jal jeevan Mission was started, only 3.23 crore rural households had access to tap water, which has increased to 10.27 crore in three years. This has led to a significant reduction in water-borne diseases in recent years.


The President continued, but our goal is much bigger. We have to set an example before the world in the field of water management and sanitation. The awards were distributed on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the father of the Nation mahatma gandhi on Sunday.
