The state Bharat Janata party leadership feels embarrassed by the planned trip of prime minister Narendra Modi to Visakhapatnam to announce a number of projects and deliver a speech. There hasn't been any additional communication from the bjp central leadership to the state bjp led by somu veerraju other than the announcement that Modi will arrive on november 11 and participate in official events on november 12.

BJP national general secretary Daggubati Purandeshwari, secretary Y satya Kumar, rajya sabha members g v l narasimha rao and C M Ramesh, among others, are said to be among the core committee leaders who are unaware of Modi's itinerary. There is currently no information available regarding who will serve on the reception committee, in accordance with protocol, to greet the prime minister at the airport, or who will stand on the dais during the public meeting that will take place on the grounds of the Andhra university Engineering College. The jagan Mohan reddy administration is making official preparations for Modi's arrival and meeting; the bjp leaders have not been informed of these plans.

The core committee members reportedly yelled at Veerraju for failing to have even a single meeting to go over Modi's visit and the preparations that needed to be made on the party's behalf. They also questioned Veerraju's lack of action in utilising the Prime Minister's visit to the party's benefit. "The bjp should have made efforts to get the credit and not to the YSRCP," the core committee members said in reference to the laying of the cornerstone for the Visakhapatnam Railway Zone project.
