Shikar dhawan is all set to play against sri lanka in the upcoming ODI and t20 series and he will be captaining a very young and fresh side. The entire indian team is inexperienced and there are very few notable players in the squad as the main team is in england for the test series against the england Cricket team. Right now 20 indian players under the head supervision of Dravid and captaincy of dhawan have reached sri lanka and the ODI series will begin on the 18th of this month.

But things took a complete detour as Grant Flower who is Sri Lanka's batting coach got tested for COVID and then a few other players who returned from england also showed symptoms related to the COVID virus.

So, the match between the two sides got delayed and later bcci announced that it will begin on sunday and they also revised all the playing timings accordingly. By July 18th, Dhawan's age will be 35 years and 225 days and he will be captaining the side for the first time. This is a new record as Mohinder amarnath was India's oldest captain so far and he was 34 years when he captained the side in 1984. Now, this record is rewritten by dhawan and he will be the oldest indian team ODI captain.
