Despite the fact that they are all about the wrong side of the law, heist films and shows provide a pleasure unlike any other crime story and touch into a yearning to be on that side of the law. The fact that these films are all anti-establishment in style, sticking it to the system, is one of the key reasons for this desire, this wants to risk the dark side, even more than the cash or the excitement. To be honest, no heist film has delved deeper into this theme than Netflix's Money Heist. Thus, does Money Heist Part 5 live up to the high standards set by its previous 4 spectacular seasons, or does it, like many classic shows before everything, suffer the curse of the last season?

So, the new season beings exactly from where the proceedings ended in Season 4. as professor tries to outsmart Alicia after she spots his hideout and the rest of the team are locked inside the Reserve bank of spain by getting cornered from all sides. There isn't a moment of relief – creator alex Pina and his mini-army of filmmakers and co-writers pull out all the breaks to force their master robbers into one tight situation after another, until the shocking finale when you'll hope against hope that the worst doesn't happen ( revealing more would lead to major spoilers).

The use of flashbacks to introduce several key new character members, notably Berlin's son (Pedro Alonso), is also a lovely touch. Anyone expecting the big, classic Money Heist twist will not be dismayed, as the authors do include one of these in the fourth episode. There's not much to grumble about here, although the Money Heist 5 takes a little longer to get going than the prior seasons, and when it does, it's impossible to stop it.

With the exception of one minor hiccup in which Money Heist season 5 takes a little longer to get going than the previous installments, it's every bit as exciting, tense, and action-packed as the earlier iterations, with The professor, Tokyo, and the rest of the world's finest robbers backed into their harshest corner yet. This time, there's only one significant twist, but I'm betting the writers are keeping the best for the end of the season.
