With the critically acclaimed and commercially successful film Needi Naadi Oke Katha, filmmaker venu udugula made his directorial debut. On the 17th of this month, the director's second film, virata parvam, starring Rana and Sai Pallavi, will be released. Prior to the film's release, the filmmaker spoke with the press. Why did you decide to do your second film about such a serious subject?
The atmosphere in which I was born and raised, as well as the books I read, influenced my decision to make a film. virata parvam is an attempt to relate the narrative of my life as well as the history's secret stories. I don't want to share a long or difficult story. My mood is like a movie.
Do you subscribe to or practise left-wing ideology?
Telangana is a political experiment. The events that occurred here had an impact on national politics. I naturally have progressive ideas because I grew up in these circumstances. That does not, however, imply that I subscribe to or support left or right-wing ideologies.
Was Vennela's character based on a real person?
Yes, the film was inspired by true events. Sarala is the protagonist of the story.
Do you think younger generations would relate with the story since they are unaware of left-wing ideology?
The main emotion of the film is more essential than the backdrop. In virata parvam, we're telling a magnificent and epic love story. The political issues in the 1990s were depicted as a personal fight. movie enthusiasts have a special fondness for movies set in the framework of human interactions. virata parvam is a love story told from the perspective of a young woman. This is the first love narrative set against the backdrop of the Naxals.
