Thanjavur - Ancient copper coins were found while digging a ditch for building a house in Nallicherry.

Markandeyar's son Balasubramanian (87) passed away from Nallicherry Agraharatheru. He has been living abroad for many years and is working as an officer in reliance Group. Saminathan's son, venkatesh (55), who lives in the same area, maintains the places that belong to him.

In this case, Subramanian, Shanmugam and some others from the same area dug a ditch to build a house in the land owned by Balasubramanian yesterday. Then it came to know that there is an ancient brass box under the ground. The locals informed the revenue department and the Ayyampet police in this regard.

Thanjavur district Collector Sakthivel, Revenue Inspector Saravanakumar, village Administrative Officer Dhinakaran and the police who came there on the information, opened the box and found that there were more than 100 ancient copper coins in it.
