Telangana assembly Elections: Stage set for polling...
Today is the start of the telangana assembly elections, which will choose representatives for the 119-member Legislative Assembly. This will be the third election for representatives in the newest state in india since it broke away from Andhra Pradesh. The current Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), led by chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the congress, and the Bhartiya Janata party (BJP) will compete in Telangana.
The congress has been fighting tooth and nail to take power away from the BRS, which is attempting to hold onto power for a third straight term. To gain power, the bjp has done all in its power.

The AIMIM, led by Asaduddin Owaisi, has candidates in nine city segments.
