Some sections of delhi and its surrounding regions in the National capital Region (NCR) experienced light rain in the early hours of Wednesday, as cold wave conditions persisted in the national capital and other parts of North India.

Thin to heavy fog blanketed numerous portions of North india as cold wave conditions in the late night and early morning hours persisted. The india Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted dense to extremely dense fog conditions for a few hours in the night/morning in some/many portions of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh till january 27 (Saturday).

The meteorological agency also forecast dense fog conditions in isolated areas of delhi until january 27. The IMD stated that thick to extremely dense fog conditions were expected for a few hours in the night/morning in isolated pockets of bihar till january 25 and dense fog in isolated pockets of the state for the next three days.

Dense fog was expected in isolated areas of madhya pradesh till january 26, and over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Tripura until january 25.

According to the Met Department, cold day to severe cold day conditions are expected to persist in several parts of Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh on january 24th, in some areas on january 25th, and in isolated pockets of these states till january 27th. On january 24, similar circumstances were expected for small regions in West Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and east Rajasthan.

Cold day conditions were expected to prevail in isolated parts of bihar from january 24 to 27, as well as in madhya pradesh on january 24.
