Why did AstraZeneca withdraw the COVID-19 vaccine..!?

Pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca recently admitted in a UK court that its company's Covid-19 vaccine could cause a rare and dangerous side effect. The issue became the subject of worldwide debate. AstraZeneca has announced that it is withdrawing its Covid vaccine.

The company also said that the move is being taken for commercial reasons. It has said that the vaccine will no longer be manufactured or distributed. However, the company does not acknowledge that this vaccine can cause TTS - Thrombosis Thrombocytopenia. As AstraZeneca voluntarily withdrew its "marketing authorization", the vaccine is no longer approved for use in the EU. The application to withdraw the vaccine was submitted on march 5 and took effect on Tuesday.

The Vaxzevria vaccine is under global scrutiny because of AstraZeneca's side effect of causing blood clotting and low blood cell counts. In court papers filed in the high court in February, AstraZeneca admitted that the vaccine "can, in very rare cases, cause TTS". About 81 people in the UK have reportedly died from TTS. Victims of the vaccine are suing AstraZeneca in court.

"We are incredibly proud of the role that Vaxsevria has played in ending the global epidemic. In the first year of vaccine use alone, more than 6.5 million lives were saved and more than three billion doses were administered worldwide. Our efforts have been recognized by governments around the world and are widely regarded as a key component in ending the global epidemic. ,” AstraZeneca said. Meanwhile, it started making respiratory syncytial virus vaccines and obesity drugs through several deals last year, after growth slowed last year due to lower sales of its Covid-19 vaccine.
