Individuals born before this date, however, may still use other papers, such as copies of their military records, a PAN card, a driver's license, a school leaving certificate, or a matriculation certificate, as evidence of date of birth.
Residential address
In an attempt to increase security and privacy, the new regulation will no longer publish residence addresses on the final page of passports. The document will now have a barcode written on it instead, which immigration officers will scan to obtain data.
Colour-coding system
In order to facilitate the identification of various national' passports, the indian government has recently implemented a color-coded scheme.
The new policy states that government officials would receive white passports, while diplomats would receive red passports.
In the meantime, blue passports will still be given to regular people.
Parents' names to be removed
The name of the passport holders' parents will no longer be required for the new passport. Earlier, the names of the parents used to be printed on the last page of the passport.
This new change will prevent unnecessary disclosure of personal information.
