A family from pune, Maharashtra, who visited Jammu and Kashmir, provided a significant insight into the recent pahalgam terror assault, which killed 26 tourists on april 22. Just days before the horrific attack that stunned the country, two suspected terrorists were apprehended on video taken during their tour of the union territory.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has now received the footage for additional analysis to ascertain whether the persons in it are the same perpetrators of the attack. According to a tourist who went to pahalgam, a hill station with mountain trains, on april 18, four days prior to the attack on april 22, they also went to the Betaab Valley, which is about 7.5 kilometers from pahalgam, where they allegedly took a video of their daughter. Two suspected terrorists were also unintentionally captured in the video.

After that, the pune family traveled to other locations in Kashmir, such as the well-known Gulmarg Point.  They realized they had seen some of the attackers in the picture, which was eventually made public by the government agencies after they learned of the terrorist assault.  During a family vacation in Kashmir, a visitor saw two suspicious people walking by behind his daughter while he was shooting an instagram reel in the Betaab Valley.

The visitor discovered that the people in his film resembled two of the suspects whose images were eventually made public by the government after returning to pune and watching their recorded footage.  They shared the tape with the NIA office in delhi after realizing it was vital information for apprehending terrorists.  Since then, the agency has started a thorough investigation to confirm the names of the people shown in the footage.
