The indian army successfully attacked nine terrorist camps in pakistan and Pakistan-occupied kashmir (PoK) tonight under the name of Operation Sindoor. In this, four targets, including Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Sialkot in pakistan, and five terrorist camps in the PoK area were destroyed. In this attack, the sound of jets flying over the kashmir area at around 1:45 am on May 7 caused panic among the people of the area. At a time when tensions between india and pakistan are at their peak after the Baghlam attack on april 22, the operation has created fear among the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

India's target: In a coordinated operation by India's three forces (land, air, sea), terrorist camps in pakistan and PoK were attacked. This operation did not target the Pakistani army or the Pakistani population in Sindh, but only nine terrorist camps. Nine targets were successfully destroyed. It is reported that precision munitions were used for this. The attacks targeted Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Sialkot in pakistan and five camps in PoK. These attacks, along with the sound of two explosions in the early hours of May 7, put people in srinagar in a state of panic. "Our houses shook from the planes flying and the explosions," a resident of Birbagh area near srinagar airport told reporters.
The residents of the area have also expressed their dismay at the situation, calling on people they know to make sure they are safe. “We heard these sounds all night. We don’t know what is happening,” said a srinagar resident.

Pahalgam attack: On april 22, 2025, a terrorist attack took place in the pahalgam area of kashmir, killing 26 people. The indian army carried out this attack in retaliation. Following the incident, Kashmiris started stockpiling essential items, including medicines and food items. However, the attacks came a day before a mock drill scheduled across the country on May 7, leaving people in shock.

Economic and financial implications: The pahalgam attack has led to heightened tensions between india and pakistan, with a significant impact on the economy of Jammu and Kashmir. The attacks have severely affected Pakistan’s financial markets and created fear among investors. In contrast, India's stock markets have registered gains despite the tensions. The operation could further disrupt local businesses, tourism, and economic activity in Sindh and Kashmir.

Geopolitical implications: The strikes by indian forces are in retaliation for the pahalgam attack. The actions could further exacerbate the already tense India-Pakistan situation. Both countries possess nuclear weapons, which have drawn global attention.
