
Amid India-Pakistan tensions, Pakistan's Deputy prime minister and Foreign minister Ishaq Dar left for china on monday (May 19, 2025). In china, he will hold bilateral talks with his counterpart Wang Yi. During this, he can also meet Afghanistan's acting Foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi. He is arriving in china on tuesday (May 20, 2025).
According to a Geo news report, the three foreign ministers will also participate in a trilateral meeting. The visit comes soon after Operation Sindoor, which india launched after the pahalgam terror attack and destroyed terrorist hideouts in PoK as well as Pakistan.
The meeting is taking place amid the changed situation in South Asia
This high-level trilateral meeting organized by China is being seen as an important step towards restoring dialogue and maintaining peace in the region. The three leaders are expected to discuss ways to boost regional trade, security cooperation and handle the changing situation in South Asia following the India-Pakistan conflict.

China welcomes India-Pakistan ceasefire
The choice of beijing for the talks is considered diplomatically significant. china had earlier welcomed the ceasefire agreement between india and pakistan and called it a move that serves the long-term interests of both sides and contributes to regional peace and stability.
