One of the most eagerly awaited movies of 2025 is Thug Life. The trailer, which was just released by the makers, elicited conflicting reactions because of specific scenes. These featured a personal talk between kamal haasan and trisha, as well as a kissing session between him and Abhirami.

Due of the notable 30-year age difference between kamal haasan and the actresses, some fans voiced their dissatisfaction.  However, filmmaker mani ratnam recently spoke out about the issue in an interview with Mid-Day.

How did mani ratnam address the backlash regarding Kamal Haasan’s age gap with his co-stars?
Mani Ratnam responded to the criticism of Thug Life's age disparity during the conversation.  "In real life, older people tend to have relationships with younger partners, both men and women," he said.  The director made it clear that this relationship is not new and has always existed.

According to him, "There are people in real life who are a little older and who are in a relationship with a younger person, either male or female.  They exist.  It's just a reality.  That has been the case for a while.  It's not only now.  We attempt to criticize or condemn it when it is shown in a movie, which indicates that you are attempting to hide or ignore what is taking place in your society and assert that it should only be this way."

Here's what trisha has to say about romancing Kamal Haasan
Trisha responded to the criticism directed at her on-screen collaboration with kamal haasan during a recent pre-release function in Mumbai.  When others talked about their chemistry in Thug Life, she answered with assurance.

The actress revealed that even before formally joining the project, she had a strong feeling about it.  Despite not having signed the film at the time, she admitted that she immediately had a feeling the movie would create excitement when it was announced. "I believe I was aware of that when the movie was announced, even though I hadn't signed it," trisha remarked.  I realized then, "Wow, this is magic."  And at that time, I wasn't even included in the movie."
