New Delhi: The Centre has imposed stock limits on wheat relevant to investors/wholesalers, shops, massive chain stores and processors so one can prevent hoarding and hypothesis that drives up inflation.

"with the intention to manage the overall meals safety and to prevent hoarding and unscrupulous speculation, the authorities of india has imposed inventory limits on wheat relevant to wholesalers, shops, massive chain stores, and processors in all states and Union Territories, the Ministry of consumer Affairs, food & Public Distribution stated on Thursday.

The Wheat inventory limit are as below:

(i) investors/Wholesaler: 3000 MT;

(ii) store: 10 MT for each Retail outlet.

(iii) large Chain store: upto 10 MT for every retail outlet challenge to maximum quantity of (10 improved by means of overall no. of retailers) MT. this could be the maximum stock that can be held in any respect their stores and depots put together.

(iv) Processors: 70% of month-to-month hooked up capability (MIC) expanded through last months of FY 2025-26.

All wheat stocking entities are required to claim/ update the stock position on every friday on wheat stock portal (https://evegoils.nic.in/wsp/login so one can be migrated in due path of time to https://foodstock.dfpd.gov.in). Any entity which is discovered to have no longer registered on the portal or violates the stock limits can be subject to suitable punitive motion underneath section 6 & 7 of vital Commodities Act,1955.
