Residents of pune witnessed a strange scenario when they hurried to the Premlok Park area of Pimpri, where "holy water" was observed gushing from a gulmohar tree's trunk. Many referred to it as a "miracle tree," and the locals thought the water had "healing powers." A leaky subterranean water conduit, however, was eventually found to be the origin of the anomaly by the civic authority.

Punekar news reports that the event took place on june 6 between 7 and 11 p.m. near the main road outside the Sahara Society. Onlooker footage of the incident has been widely circulated online and has received harsh criticism.

In the widely shared video, individuals are seen decorating the tree's trunk with garlands and applying turmeric and vermilion.  The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) began looking into the situation shortly after it was reported, and it was then that they found the leaking pipe.  "There is no miracle.  Beneath the tree is an ancient water pipeline.  Pravin Dhumal, Deputy Engineer, B Regional Office, was quoted by Punekar news as saying, "The water found an outlet through the hollow trunk due to a leak."

Sharing the video, an X user satya wrote, "In the area of Pimpri Chinchwad, citizens began offering garlands, flowers, turmeric, and vermilion to a tree, worshipping it after seeing water coming from it. Later, some sensible citizens informed the municipal corporation about this, and during the investigation, it was revealed that a water pipeline had burst beneath the tree."

One user commented, "If only we chased education, infrastructure, and healthcare with the same speed we chase miracles." The video immediately went viral and sparked criticism. As one user put it, "2025 and we wonder why india isn't progressing."

"Superstition at its height. A third user commented, "It is sad to see its condition today. Two thousand years ago, india was known as the world teacher; some so many philosophers are not found anywhere else in the world in one place." "I am not surprised," added a fourth person.
