Prime minister Narendra Modi posted a post on the social media platform X. In the post, PM Modi wrote, "I have reached Cyprus. I thank cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides for showing special warmth in welcoming me at the airport. PM Modi has reached cyprus as part of the first leg of his three-nation visit in five days. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir jaiswal said in a post on X, "Prime minister Narendra Modi has reached cyprus for a reliable partnership based on shared values and aspirations. Expressing warmth and reflecting special deep historical relations, President Christodoulides and Foreign minister Constantinos Kombos welcomed the prime minister at the airport." He said, "During PM Modi's visit, there will be extensive discussions to further strengthen bilateral relations."

PM Modi said in a statement before leaving New delhi that cyprus is a close friend and important partner in the Mediterranean region and in the european Union. He said, "This visit is an opportunity to further strengthen historical ties, deepen our relations in the areas of trade, investment, security, technology and promote people-to-people contact between the two countries." Prime minister Modi will hold talks with President Christodoulides in Cyprus' capital Nicosia and address business leaders in Limassol.
