America is now more upset with the friendship between india and Russia. Two big American leaders Lindsay Graham (Republican) and richard Blumenthal (Democrat) have jointly introduced a bill, which talks about imposing higher taxes on countries buying oil and uranium from Russia. This especially includes india and China, which buy 70 percent of energy products from Russia. This bill has been named Sanctioning russia Act of 2025.

Countries buying oil from russia will be punished

According to this bill, if any country buys oil, gas or uranium from russia, then a 500 percent tax will be imposed on the goods coming to America from that country. American leader richard Blumenthal said that this decision was taken so that the world does not depend on russia for energy and russia can be punished for the ukraine war.

'Bill needed to reduce Russia's war fund'

If this bill is implemented, it can have the biggest impact on India. This bill has the support of more than 80 lawmakers from both parties of America. The US says that this is necessary to reduce Russia's war fund. US senator richard Blumenthal met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Rome this week and promised him strong US support.

India's goods may stop going to America

This bill is different from normal economic sanctions. This will not only affect Russian companies and banks, but it is a blow to all those countries that buy energy or oil from Russia. india bought about 35 percent of its total oil imports from russia in the year 2024. If so much tax is imposed, then goods from countries like india, China, turkey and Africa will stop going to America.

India Russia has kept domestic inflation under control by buying cheap oil. If America imposes a 500 percent tax, then the price of goods being sent there will increase so much that no one will buy them.

According to the provisions of this bill, US President donald trump is going to have a very important role in it. He will have the right to stop this tariff for 180 days, but he will need the permission of the US Parliament.
