The floods in pakistan have caused severe damage. It is feared that more than 1000 people may have died due to this. The khyber pakhtunkhwa province is the worst-hit area. The government of the country has said that rescue operations are underway in the area at full speed. This is not the first time that pakistan has faced flood damage. It faced similar flood damage in 2022. The death toll was high then. The Prime Minister's Communications Coordinator, Ikhtiar Khan, has expressed deep concern that about 1,000 people may have died in the recent floods in the khyber pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. In a report by ARY News, he described the situation as a great human tragedy. He said he had personally visited the flood-affected areas and witnessed the devastation.
“Entire villages have been swept away. The Sakarsi area of the Panar region has been badly damaged, and the village of Bashoni has completely disappeared from the map,” the local media reported. Ikhtiar said that some of the rocks brought by the floodwaters were bigger than trucks, that houses on the banks of the rivers had disappeared without a trace, and that entire families had been swept away in the floods. He said that official figures only reflect the bodies brought to hospitals (around 300) and that many more deaths were yet to be recorded.
According to Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority, at least 657 people have died in rain-related incidents across the country since june 26. This includes 392 men. Another 929 have been injured. Among the dead are 171 children and 94 women. Among the injured, 437 men, 256 children, and 236 women have been reported. The Disaster Management Authority said the deaths were due to heavy rains, flooding, and related hazards. It said it was coordinating with provincial authorities to intensify rescue and relief operations in the affected areas.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has been the worst hit. 390 people have died, including 288 men, 59 children, and 43 women. A further 245 people have been injured, including 161 men, 45 children, and 39 women.
