mithun Chakraborty recently disclosed that at one point in his career, he had an astounding 65 films in production simultaneously. In an exclusive interview with IANS, the veteran actor reflected on his prolific output during the 80s and 90s, revealing that he holds a Limca Book of Records for having 19 films released in a single year. "You would be shocked to know that we had 65 films at a time on the floor," he remarked, emphasizing the sheer volume of work he managed. "I am 380 films old," he added, highlighting his extensive filmography.
When asked about his motivation to continue working on multiple projects in an era where many actors opt for fewer films, mithun expressed disbelief at their approach. "I don’t know how people do just one film," he said. He explained that after reading a script, they could decide if they wanted to participate based on a single line of the story. Currently, he is involved in projects like "Fauji," a patriotic family drama alongside Prabhas, and "Jailer 2" with Rajinikanth.
mithun also addressed the controversy surrounding his latest film, "The bengal Files." He noted that revealing the truth often leads to political motivations. "The minute you show reality, it automatically becomes politically motivated," he stated, referencing historical events like the Noakhali genocide, in which approximately 40,000 Hindus were killed, and the Great calcutta killings. He lamented that many are reluctant to confront these truths, asserting, "This is the truth, and as soon as someone talks about it, it becomes politically motivated. What can we do about it?"
