West Asia Crisis: Explosions, Evacuations, and Safe Return of indians Amid Israel-Iran War

The escalating conflict between israel and iran has severely disrupted normal life across West Asia, particularly affecting air travel and civilian safety.

Due to rising hostilities and missile exchanges, several international flights were cancelled over the past few days, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded in transit hubs, including Abu Dhabi.

Amid the crisis, the first evacuation-linked flight from Abu Dhabi landed safely at Kempegowda international airport, Bengaluru, bringing immense relief to anxious families awaiting their loved ones.

Passengers onboard described scenes of fear and uncertainty during their stay in Abu Dhabi after sudden flight cancellations.

One returning passenger recounted that after their scheduled flight was cancelled, the airline arranged hotel accommodation. However, what followed was terrifying.

“It was very scary. There were continuous explosions near the hotel,” the passenger said, describing how missile interceptions lit up the night sky.

According to the travellers, missiles were being destroyed mid-air, producing loud blasts that echoed across the city. The sounds of explosions were frequent and alarming.

Many passengers said they feared for their safety as the situation seemed unpredictable and tense.

Despite the trauma, they expressed deep relief and gratitude upon landing safely in India. “We are just very happy to be back home,” several passengers said.

The indian government has stepped up diplomatic and logistical efforts to ensure the safe return of stranded citizens, particularly students caught in conflict-hit areas.

Speaking to IANS, Saeed Reza Mosayeb Motlagh, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of iran in Mumbai, confirmed coordination between Iranian and indian authorities for evacuation efforts.

He stated that indian students in iran do not require special exit permissions and can leave through designated land borders due to airport closures caused by security concerns.

Iranian airports remain shut amid the ongoing war, eliminating the possibility of air evacuations from within Iran.

Students have been advised to exit via land borders adjoining afghanistan and Turkmenistan, carrying valid passports.

Meanwhile, lok sabha mp K. C. Venugopal voiced concern over the safety of indians in the Middle east and urged the Ministry of External Affairs to take urgent action.

The conflict, reportedly involving the united states alongside israel, has intensified, with iran targeting US bases in the region.

According to media reports, fresh explosions were heard in Tehran, and missile strikes reportedly hit Sanandaj.

The death toll from airstrikes has reportedly crossed 500, underscoring the grave humanitarian impact of the conflict.
