Wipro's profit fell more than expected, jobs are given to 10,000 freshers

The company's profit during the june quarter stood at Rs 2,563.6 crore. wipro had posted a profit of Rs 3,242.6 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year.
Analysts had also predicted a fall in profits, but it was higher than expected. Wipro's net profit was estimated to decline 8.1% to Rs 2,970 crore on a year-on-year basis. Looking at it from this point of view, there is a big difference.
Wipro's revenue is up 3.2% at Rs 21,528 crore as compared to the march quarter. There was revenue of Rs 19,045 crore in the year-ago quarter. In this comparison, it increased by 15.51% to Rs 22,001 crore. Meanwhile, wipro added 15,446 employees in the june quarter. More than 10,000 freshers have been included.

Shares of wipro closed 1.49% higher at Rs 411.70 on the NSE ahead of the quarterly results. Let us tell you that wipro shares have fallen by more than 43% in the calendar year 2022 so far.
