Tamil Nadu chief minister M.K. Stalin has strongly condemned the Union government over the Metro rail issue, stating that resorting to retaliatory actions because the people of tamil Nadu have rejected the bjp is a “low and undemocratic attitude.”
In a sharply worded statement, stalin accused the central leadership of deliberately delaying or obstructing major development projects—particularly Metro rail expansion—in an attempt to politically punish the state. He emphasized that governance must rise above party interests and serve the welfare of the people, regardless of electoral outcomes.
“Punishing the people for exercising their democratic right is a disgraceful act. Such revenge politics reflects a shallow mindset,”
— Chief minister M.K. Stalin
Stalin further stressed that tamil Nadu has consistently shown maturity in its political choices, and the Union government should respect the federal structure rather than undermine it. He noted that large-scale public infrastructure projects like Metro rail are essential for urban growth, economic expansion, and public convenience. Any attempt to hinder them for political reasons would ultimately harm millions of citizens.
The chief minister urged the Centre to reconsider its stance and release the required approvals and funds without bias. He reiterated that his government will continue to fight for the state’s rights and ensure that developmental needs are not compromised under any circumstances.
Stalin’s remarks have sparked widespread discussion in political circles, with supporters praising his bold stand and critics debating the broader implications for Centre–State relations.
