Three terrorists belonging to the LeT were neutralised after a six-hour gunfight between security forces and terrorists in south Kashmir's anantnag district. Security forces received a tip about the involvement of terrorists in a residential house in village Sheikhpora, Vailoo district of Kokernag, at about 4 a.m. IST, prompting a joint cordon and search action by police, 19RR, and CRPF. terrorists were given the chance to surrender, but they opened fire on government forces, sparking a firefight between the two sides.

"Ilyas Ahmad Dar alias sameer, a resident of Danwathpora Kokernag, Ubaid shafi alias Abdullah, a resident of Batamaloo srinagar, and Aqib Ahmad Lone alias Sahil, a resident of Khandaypora kulgam, were named as the terrorists killed in the encounter. According to police reports, all of the terrorists killed were affiliated to the banned terror organisation LeT and were members of groups engaged in a number of terror crimes, including assaults on government forces and security institutions "According to a press release by the police department.

Security services seized arms and explosives from the encounter site. One AK-47 rifle, two handguns, and other incriminating items were among the ammunition.
