Three terrorists belonging to the LeT were neutralised after a six-hour gunfight between security forces and terrorists in south Kashmir's anantnag district. Security forces received a tip about the involvement of terrorists in a residential house in village Sheikhpora, Vailoo district of Kokernag, at about 4 a.m. IST, prompting a joint cordon and search action by police, 19RR, and CRPF. terrorists were given the chance to surrender, but they opened fire on government forces, sparking a firefight between the two sides.

"Ilyas Ahmad Dar alias sameer, a resident of Danwathpora Kokernag, Ubaid shafi alias Abdullah, a resident of Batamaloo srinagar, and Aqib Ahmad Lone alias Sahil, a resident of Khandaypora kulgam, were named as the terrorists killed in the encounter.
